From the same company as Bone Daddies, Flesh and Buns is gaining popularity among some of my friends. Just like its name, the restaurant serves a variety of flesh from poultry to seafood together with freshly steamed buns as well as a variety of fusion Japanese dishes. After hearing all the good comments about Flesh and Buns, it was only right to give it a try!
Visited Flesh and Buns on last Saturday evening, the place was fully booked but walk in customers were welcomed depending on availability of tables on a first come first serve basis. Arriving at about 7.35pm, the waiting time for a table was about 20 minutes. The restaurant layout has a number of high table seats and some diner style seats for larger parties. As recommended by the waitress, we ordered a couple of starters and 3 mains for the 4 of us.
Here’s the main stars of dinner:
At the end of the meal, it wasn’t quite filling. Either the food recommendations just wasn’t right or we had a huge appetite. The total bill for the entire dinner was also expensive considering the amount of food was rather little and the taste of the food was not really to die for. Personally, the concept of Flesh and Bun is interesting and something fresh. However, the taste of the food is mediocre and not well worth the price. Definitely not somewhere which will be my regular.
Located on Earlham Street, Flesh and Buns is near to either Covent Garden or Leicester Square station with both about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the restaurant.

More soft shell crab roll |
Tempura Pumpkin Soft thinly sliced pumpkin with a crispy batter on the outside. The sweetness of pumpkin was delicate that goes very well with the accompaniment. |
The best appetizer among all our orders |
Korean Fried Wings @ £5.00 4 pieces of rather spicy chicken wings in Korean marinade. Aside from the exceptionally tasty sauce/marinade, there’s nothing much special about it. |
Here’s the main stars of dinner:
Bone Daddies Home Made Buns @ £2.50 for 2 Soft and extremely fluffy, the buns were freshly steam and hot when served. Honestly, the buns are no different from Chinese mantous |
Flesh and Buns: Bun with shredded crispy duck |
